BKS General Contractors, LLC's owner, Brian E. Smith has been involved in the construction industry since 1979. As a young laborer and apprentice he worked on such notable projects as renovations at the Historical Excelsior Hotel and several other restorations in his hometown of Jefferson, Texas. After a few years in the Bryan / College Station area, where he attended college, Brian moved to the San Francisco Bay area of California, where he worked for nine years in commercial and industrial construction, eventually acquiring the prized Class B California Contractor's License. His many projects in California include such exciting works as renovations to the Alameda Naval Weapons Station, full commercial build out for the Silicon Valley start-up company Initio Corporation, and many others. In 1999, Brian moved back home to Jefferson. Some of his most recent projects include the full remodel of Brownrigg Insurance's offices in downtown Jefferson, repairs to the Jefferson Historical Museum, several new spec built and custom homes, as well as many additions and remodels.
Brian's motto is a strong one, "We build it right! No exceptions!"
